Bethesda Softworks and id Software are currently working on the latest DLC for Doom: Eternal. Although the game has received DLC before, this is the first time the game has a new story DLC that will add on to the main story. However, more info on this story DLC will appear late this month during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event.
Furthermore, this is the first time Bethesda Softworks and id Software’s reboot of Doom will gain a story DLC. If you recall correctly, Doom (2016) did not receive any form of story DLC and only gained multiplayer expansions.
Anyway, this new expansion for Doom: Eternal will be the first part and will be followed by more installments in the foreseeable future given that “Part One” is in the title’s name.
The first campaign expansion follows the Doom Guy after his victory over Hell’s army, but an imbalance of power in the heavens requires the true ruler of the universe to rise and set things right.
In other words, the player will battle across never-before-seen realms in the Doom universe against new demons. You can check out the latest teaser trailer right here:
“Watch the first glimpse of DOOM Eternal’s first campaign expansion, then see the full trailer reveal at Opening Night Live, August 27th at 2pm ET.
Your victory over Hell’s armies pulled humanity back from the edge of extinction, but it came at a cost. An imbalance of power in the heavens requires the true ruler of this universe to rise and set things right. Wage war across never-before-seen realms of the DOOM Universe and fight against new demons in your never-ending battle against the forces of evil.”
Lastly, Doom: Eternal is out now across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The official trailer for The Ancient Gods – Part One is slated to air during the Opening Night Live event, which will kick-off on August 27th at 2:00 P.M. ET.
