Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture Complete Gameplay Walkthrough

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture is a little like a mix between The Myst and the 1983 film Testament fused in with the series Left Behind. The game has been capturing the attention of critics and gamers alike and there’s a series of walkthroughs available for anyone looking for a bit of help in finding some of the points of interests in the game.

The PS4 exclusive is designed by The Chinese Room, the same minds behind the celebrated walking simulator Dear Esther. In the case of Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture the game is more like an interactive audio-visual book than a typical game. You can get a hint at what the gameplay looks like and the early goings of the story from a near 40 minute video from MKIceAndFire. Check it out below.

“Kate, I love you. You know that right?” … “[sigh] Yeah, I know that.”

Ouch, Stephen just got Friendzoned… by his wife!

That’s probably the most beta thing that can happen next to being cuckolded.

Anyway, the game plays out like a typical walking simulator. The only way you might get stuck is if you can’t find the light orbs or radios/phones scattered around the map. In order to progress to the next areas you have to activate the orbs or listen to radio, tape recording and phone messages before you can proceed. Some of the orbs are easy to find while others will require a bit of exploration around the British countryside. If you missed any of the orbs or message, or you have a hard time finding them, there’s a very thorough walkthrough from start to finish provided by YouTuber Rangris Gaming. You can check it out below.

This is definitely not the sort of game for everyone. If you don’t like walking around, exploring environments and basically partaking in what could best be considered as a visual audiobook, you might not take a liking to Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture. It’s definitely slower paced and less puzzle-oriented than The Astronauts’ The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter.

However, if you do like games like this, it’s not hard to see how you can easily progress through the title. There aren’t any traditional puzzles to solve and there are no logic conundrums to overcome. Basically if you get stuck or don’t know where to go it just boils down to finding the next orbs or looking for a phone or tape recorder, which is what you need to interact with in order to progress.

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture is available right now, exclusively for the PS4.
