Telltale’s Batman: The Telltale Series has received its first episode for home consoles and PC. The game is currently available for purchase. The first episode is entitled “Realm of Shadows”. For gamers looking for a detailed walkthrough of the episode there’s one available that clocks in at just under two hours.
YouTuber Nukem Dukem has up a video of the episode from start to finish, covering a lot of the game in detail, which you can check out below.
Telltale’s take on Batman is definitely not like the one from Batman vs Superman. This Batman doesn’t use guns, doesn’t kill people because he’s having a bad day and doesn’t sound like he has throat cancer.
The fight at the beginning is not as easy as other QTEs in games, it requires some really lightning fast reflexes at time, even with all the slow-motion.
You’ll be able to walk around and explore the Batcave and check out Batman’s gadgets, as well as check out a compendium of info that have been unlocked throughout the playthrough using the codex. The Batcave is basically the hub for Bruce’s and Batman’s exploits.
The game spends the entire first-half with Bruce Wayne, as he navigates the minefield of politics. He faces off against brash allegations about Wayne Enterprises taking dirty money from Falcone, as well as meeting face-to-face with Selina Kyle after their scuffle on the roof in the beginning.
After eventually getting back to playing Batman, the Dark Knight has to investigate a massacre at a warehouse where Catwoman was supposed to go.
You’ll need to connect the clawed up mercenary’s face with the cop’s bloody hands. You’ll also need to link the bullet through the head of the cop with the bullet hole in the canister fragment in the cargo hold.
Connect the explosive area on the ground with the tire marks on the ground.
This will reenact the scenario in the warehouse, as Batman uses his ace detective skills to trace the phosphorous rounds. You’ll find the phosphorous residue on the railing that will eventually lead to the sniper.
The rest of the game plays out fairly straightforward and there aren’t any other major puzzles to solve. The next episode dives deeper into Wayne’s relationship with Harvey, Oswald’s rise to crime, and Batman and Catwoman’s complicated relationship.
