However, you will be losing from the 4K Blu-ray disc player which is a bonus for home cinema lovers and is offered at a reasonable price. Moreover, those with a disc drive can easily swap, borrow and trade disc-based games with their friends or at exchange stores. Games that have been announced include Hogwarts Legacy, Final Fantasy and God of War.

When it comes to specs, the two models are identical in terms of performance, with the only difference being the Blu-ray disc drive. Other than that, they both use the same custom processor and the same 825GB SSD. There is a minor difference when it comes to the weight and dimension. Both consoles can also play PS4 games, and you are recommended to buy an external HDD to use as additional storage when playing these old titles.

Should you be able to afford it, go for the PS5 Blu-ray disc console. You will be able to enjoy a 4K Blu-ray picture as well as the possibility of saving money in the future when trading disc-based games.
